Why Travel With No Limits Adventures

We develop and operate our own trips and expeditions

Kathmandu

Travelers should understand that there are many different types of companies operating in the Travel Industry especially in the 'Adventure Travel' segment.  No Limits Adventures® develops and operates its' own trips and expeditions.  We do not sell other companies' trips and we do not sell itineraries, sending clients on their way alone hoping things workout.  Other companies may operate in a very different manner.    Click here to see a comparison of the various types of travel companies.

Our trips are professionally guided from start to finish

All of our trips are lead by No Limits Adventures'® professional guides.  We believe this is the best way to ensure that clients have the best possible experience.  While this may seem obvious to some people, travelers should understand that many companies do not operate in this manner as explained in the descriptions included further down on this page.  We believe that clients should travel with the company they hire.

Ethical treatment of the world's natural resources

No Limits Adventures® is committed to the respectful and ethical treatment of the world's natural resources.  Through education and practicing Leave No Trace Principles, No Limits Adventures® works hard to preserve the places we visit for future generations.

Customized training programs are available for our more active trips

No Limits Adventures® has worked with Fit For Trips to develop customized training programs for our trips that necessitate a degree of physical fitness for optimal participation.  While not all of our trips have fitness requirements, some do, so proper training before departure is one of the best ways to ensure you'll enjoy these trips to the fullest.  These training programs are custom developed for the itineraries, taking into account the specific activities that are apart of the trip or expedition.  Look on the 'Fitness Readiness' pages under the 'TRIP DETAILS' menu for your particular trip for additional details.  Alternatively, you may go directly to the No Limits Adventures® page on the Fit For Trips website to select the training program for your trip by clicking here!

Travel Agents:

With the onset of the internet and the tightening (and in some cases elimination, as was the case in the airlines industry) of commissions/booking fees, many of the traditional small travel agencies have moved off the streets and into home/internet based businesses to remain profitable or have been consolidated into one of the few larger companies.  Their primary or sole focus is still on making reservations and assisting customers (individuals, corporations, or government bodies) with saving money through bundling travel related service such as airline tickets, hotels, rental cars and entertainment venues. Cruise lines are also typically a large part of their business.

Itinerary Builders (Non-Guided):

These companies appear to be an extension or evolution of the traditional travel agency.  They advertise adventure travel services, but upon closer inspection they really are just building itineraries and selling services of local outfitters in a packaged format.  These companies do not manage the execution of the trip and therefore provide no on the ground coordination or support services.

Outfitters / Domestic Management Companies (DMCs):

These are typically small foreign companies operating in their local markets offering very specific services such as guiding, sightseeing, canoeing, kayaking, safaris, etc.  They tend to specialize in a particular activity and operate in a very limited geographical market area (i.e. one region or country). The expertise and training of their staffs vary significantly from company to company.  Due to their location and breadth of operations, they are not in a position to provide connectivity and emergency coordination services with a traveler's home country.

Partially Guided Adventure Travel Companies:

These companies have their trips guided by people in the foreign country likely employed through a local outfitter connection.  They claim this is to provide as much positive fiscal impact as possible back into the local economies in a gesture of solidarity and to allow their clients to be guided by someone who truly knows the area.  Most likely this is only a part of the motivation.  In reality, this arrangement dramatically reduces the trips operating expenses by eliminating the overhead of flying a guide(s) and/or other staff to the destination.  What they also fail to mention is that this eliminates having someone from the company directly on the ground looking after its' clients and coordinating issues back to their home country(s).  If provided at all, this is all put in the hands of the outfitter who may have no familiarity with foreign travel, medical, communication, or other international arrangements that may be needed in an emergency.  When looking at the fine print of their itineraries, a traveler will also notice 'gaps' in the itinerary where no local support appears to be coordinating things at all.

Single Activity or Client-Type Focused Adventure Travel Companies:

These companies tend to specialize in a particular activity or maybe two.  For instance, a mountaineering company that may also offer a small selection of treks.  Other examples are companies that specialize in cycling tours in parts of the world, or kayaking trips in various destinations.  Another variety of company that falls into this category are those that target more specific client groups.  Examples would be those that provide trips only to women, or only to men, or only to people with certain disabilities. These companies differ from outfitters in that they do travel to multiple destinations/countries with their clients as opposed to providing services in a fixed destination.

Full Service - Multi Activity Adventure Travel Companies:

This is the segment of the international adventure travel industry that No Limits Adventures® operates within.  From a guiding perspective, we provide the best of both worlds.  We personally select and employ our lead guides here in the US.  They travel to the destinations to coordinate and provide on the ground support for our clients.  Therefore our clients get high quality service from trained professionals.  Our guides can also support them with coordinating needs back to the US as situations arise if necessary.  We also hire very experienced local personnel so our clients can enjoy the knowledge and experiences they have to share.  While this model increases our operating costs relative to the other types of companies mentioned above, we feel that this operating model resonates with our international clients.  Travelers are increasingly looking for authentic, meaningful and enriching experiences which often involves traveling beyond the sandy beach resorts to places that require more planning to visit.  Today's traveler is also increasingly busy and wants to place all the time consuming planning and logistical work in someone else's hands.  No Limits Adventures® is proud to offer these types of experiences and services.
