No Limits Adventures highly recommends its' clients consider their possible needs in the 3 key areas listed below when
traveling internationally. All international travelers should review their current medical coverage to ensure they are
covered outside the US (specifically in their country(s) of travel) prior to departure. Also, many travelers never consider
what would happen if they needed more serious medical care while overseas and the complications associated with
returning to the US to receive that care, if that were their desire. Emergency Evacuation protection can easily address this
situation if arranged for in advance. Finally, We also strongly recommend that travelers acquire coverage commonly
referred to as Trip Cancellation Insurance to protect their investment and to receive reimbursement for certain expenses
under unforeseen circumstances. Important: Some coverages/options are included ONLY if you sign up within so many
days (often 14-21 days) of making your initial trip deposit. Therefore, in order to get the maximum benefits, don't put
this off to the last minute!
Trip Cancellation / Interruption / Delay - This coverage reimburses you for non-refundable expenses of your
trip if it is canceled or if your trip gets interrupted for one of several covered reasons (see the provider's particular plan for
details). There are often coverages for expenses for missed connections, replacement of certain items if you baggage is
lost or delayed more than 24 hrs, and other benefits packaged under one travel plan.
Medical Coverage - For any medical care you may need in a foreign country when traveling overseas. Some medical
plans do provide international coverage at 'out of network' coverage levels, however many do not. There are often
stipulations about where you must be treated which may or may not be feasible or practical given the situation in some
locations. To play it safe and to cover expenses not covered in your plan, you may want to purchase a supplemental
medical insurance plan which will often include trip cancellation insurance, delay, lost baggage and other coverages as
well. Please check with your plan administrator and/or insurance carrier to see if you are adequately covered should you
need care outside the United States.
Emergency Evacuation - In the event you become seriously ill or injured, you may have strong feelings about where
you receive your care. If you desire not to complete your recovery overseas, waiting until you are well enough to travel
commercially, you'll most likely need to bare the costs of specialized transportation back to your desired care facility in
the US. A process oftenreferred to as Medical Repatriation. This can be extremely expensive with cost reaching tens of
thousands of dollars from some locations under certain circumstances. The risk of having to bear these costs or receiving
care overseas can be easily managed with advanced planning. Companies such as MedJet Assist (www.Medjet.com) and
AirMed (www.airmed.com) offer very economical programs for either one trip or annual coverage for the more frequent
travelers.
There are many providers that sell these coverages either separately or as a packaged plan at very reasonable costs. To
give you a place to start, you may want to look at Travelex/Travel Plus (https://www.travelex-insurance.com/Consumer/Welcome.aspx). Additionally, Insure My Trip (www.insuremytrip.com) is a useful site to compare
policies from many different providers.
